So, this may be a strange question but here I go anyway. My VCR can be programmed via VideoPlus+ (a set of numbers from the listing magazines), the VCR doesn't need to be powered up to do this. I've created a "Program the VCR" activity with buttons re-mapped all over the place, but of course this turns on the TV and VCR. Is there anyway I could either edit the XML to remove the power commands? or fool the 768 is some other way.
While typing, I just thought. I could shield the i/r ports when picking this activity, program the VCR and then power off the Harmony (again shielding the port).
But anyway is there a more elegant way of achieving this ?
Merry New Year to all...

Actually, its quite easy. Just define a second VCR, declare it as the same model, and then define no power control via the remote. Do not define an input for this device on the TV. Result - A device you can define an activity that will not turn on anything and will not activate any other devices.
I had to do this with my DVD/receiver combo. I defined the receiver as a normal receiver and then defined the DVD without a remotely controled power control. In this way, the remote just assumes that I'll take care of the power of the DVD.

Sorry, I'll try again! Cheers,
That sounds just the ticket, I'll give it a go. It's similar to how I set my Naim Pre-Amp and Tuner up (treated them as a single reciever). As far as my Hi-Fi is concerned it's never switched off. Ta!
