Has anyone been able to get the Harmony Remote 880 to work and communicate with the Bose Sound Dock for the iPod? I have tried to add it in the interface, but it questions which device I want to control the volume with, either my tv, my projector, or my a/v system/speakers.

I've searched the internet, and this forum and come up empty handed.

Thanks and I apologize if this is a n00b1sh question. :-)

Thanks

Just add a generic CD player, and then have the remote learn the commands that are present on the Bose remote control: Off, Vol up, Vol down, Next track, Previous Track, Play/Pause.

The Harmony website is obnoxious, because if you type in Bose, it will try to match you up to some other Bose systems, like the home theater receivers, which have all kinds of other stuff that you don't use. You may have to create a custom command for Play/Pause.

I realize that this is on old thread, but it became a recent problem for me. A search showed many others had the same issue of seemingly unable to program a Harmony remote to control the Bose SoundDock system (original series).
The solution that worked for me was to enter:
Device = Digital Music Server
Make = Bose
Model = SoundDock Series I

It was only after I added the "Series I" did the remote work properly. When entering only "SoundDock" (as the label identifies it!), the remote wanted to call it a "SoundDock 10". I tried the example of "SoundDock Series II" thinking it must be in the database of commands.

So, if you cannot seem to program your Harmony to control this device, try adding the "Series I" (type in SoundDock Series I) for the model. I was elated to find the remote worked perfectly after that!

P.S. I found that when creating an activity to "Play iPod" I did not have to add the command of "Play", the act of "turning it on" automatically caused it to play. I hope this helps someone trying to set up the activity!
