I've got a fairly complex home theater system with the following devices:

1) Pioneer Elite 610 hd rptv
2) Harman Kardon AVR80mkii THX reciever
3) Pioneer DV38a dvd player
4) Phillips Tivo
5) Sony A55 directv reciever (RF based...)

My main concern is with Tivo and DVD... doesn't seem to be enough hard buttons on the device, but maybe I'm not thinking this through enough.

I'm intrigued with the streamline concept of the Harmony, but I also don't want to compromise (too much) on component functions.

With Tivo I need the following functions:

1) Tivo button (access tivo menu)
2) Live/Guide
3) Play
4) Pause
5) RW
6) FF
7) Record
8) slomo
9) skip back
10) skip ahead
11) up, down, right, left, enter (for menu items)

For the DVD player it'd be sad to lose the Jog and Shuttle commands on the original remote, but that is less of a priority.

thanks,

John T.

I'm not a Tivo user, but I have a VERY complex system with TV, DVD, CD (3 types), 2 RDAT's, 2 Cassettes, Turntable, pre/proc, 2 VCR's, etc. Even a patchbay 8^) I can tell you I have everything working about 95% of the way I would like and we are working on that last 5%. I have no doubts that it will do everything I want, and though more buttons might be handy, the lack of them is not an impediment to getting all the functionality desired on the Harmony.

There is no problem emulating everything my original DVD remote did. Perhaps others can comment more on the current state of TIVO.

I'm still working through the intricacies of TIVO. It's almost there, and the ability to bind hard buttons to any function of any device helps. I just wish they'd finish the Smart function like they have with the Watch TV Activity ;-)

Lunacie, I have the Philips DSR6000 DirecTIVO.

I've got the same, another SA and a Replay, and just ordered my Harmony seconds ago from their website. They're probably all at CES this week, so I'm not looking for it shipped anytime soon down here to Texas.

I'm pretty sure I'll have the usual headaches setting up everything... got a Pronto and a MX-500 already. But this sure looks interesting!

Tell us what you've learned about plugging in the DTivo.
