I just picked up my 880 yesterday. I haven't begun setting it up (I'll do that later tonight after work), I've just been charging it.

When I set my 880 in the cradle, the back light comes on and I get the screen that says Logitech on it and I see the battery meter in the upper right hand corner. I learned in a previous post that you can press the "Glow" button and it will turn the backlight off, however the remote still stays "on". I also notice that when I press the Glow button, that when the backlight turns off the screen changes to the screen that tells me that it "needs to be charged before using".

My question is, can I actually turn off the remote so there are no screen showing until I lift it up and still have it charge?

Thanks.

It should operate normally after you have it set up.

Pressing the glow button while in the charging cradle will not display the "needs to be charged before using" cue after setup. It will shut off the lcd display and backlight.
