Hello - I've been trying to get my Harmony 676 to use "Power On" when I select an Activity and "Power Off" when selecting "Off", instead of using "Power Toggle" for both.
I know how I should be able do this by 1) From your Harmony home page click 'More Options' next to the device that you want to modify. 2) From the next page click 'Adjust power settings'. 3) Select “I want to turn off this device when it’s not in use”. Click Next. 4) Select “A button on the remote for On, and a different button for Off”. Click Next. 5) When asked to select the name of the command that turns the device On, select “Use these Infrared commands”. Choose “pwrOn” from the list. Click Next.
This doesn't work - the TV doesn't respond to the Power On / Power Off as expected.
To further test, I've tried Device” button on the Harmony, then selected “TV” from the list of devices. Then, I tried the “pwrOn” and “pwrOff” commands on the LCD screen...to no effect.
Are the Harmony infrared commands for Power On and Power Off incorrect for my TV? If this is posible, does anyone know how I can upload the right codes?
Thank you! - Matt

Yes - you have correctly diagnosed that the discrete on and off codes in the database for your device are not correct. You can post in the Discrete Hunter forum here on RemoteCentral, and someone should be able to provide Pronto hex codes for the discretes you need. You can then go to the IR Analysis Center on your Harmony homepage and enter the codes manually. Once entered, you should be able to successfully do the recharacterization of the power commands for the TV.
Good luck!
