Hi All
I just bought an 880 to replace my 688 and have to aim the remote VERY accurately at the tv for the inputs to switch. If I don't do this right then I'm back at the ever too present 'help' button again. Makes me almost want to keep the 688!
Tech support adjusted my delays but not much help. Sometimes just the number (for the input) is entered w/o the input screen being brought up and that takes me to the regular tv channel. Kinda frustrating cause I want to like thee 880 better! Button layout and screen are much nicer to me...
Anyone else have this issue? Any suggestions comments etc??
Thanks!

Make sure the battery is fully charged and then try increasing the number of repeats on the offending devices (troubleshoot - sometimes doesn't recieve commands).

This is definitely the first I've heard about the emitters being weaker on the 880 - but the 688 is a three emitter model if memory serves (680, 676 went back to 2 emitters).

The 688 has 3 IR Transmitter, no information for the 880...
If you look in front of I think you can see the transmitter and you can check the number of them and post it here...

PS: sorry for my english!

I had the same problem (Samsung DLP TV). After a long troubleshooting session with Tech Support they told me to exchange the remote. I'm waiting for Best Buy to get more in stock.

I replaced the 880 yesterday, but the problem remains.
With my 680 and prior Harmony remotes, I was able to control the TV with the remote pointed almost anywhere in the room (ceiling or a 180deg arc facing forward).

With the 880 I must aim the remote precisely at the TV or it will not process the commands. If it is angled or off center it just doesn’t work. It will however control my other devices in my sound rack with no problem at off angles.

The settings should be exactly the same as my 680 for the Samsung DLP TV as I had the old 680 account cloned into my 880 account.

Is the 880’s IR weaker or does it have tighter focus?

try to see how many IR sensor the 680 and 880 have...
H680: 3 IR transmitters
H880: no information about this (I don't have it so I can't tell you)

I too have noticed the same thing. My 880 does not have the same 'range' of blast of previous models (676, 688). I suspect fewer IR emitters, though not verified. I have learned (compromised) to keep the aiming tighter to target. Battery level at max, no blockage, etc.

I have a 880 and a Samsung DLP TV and have no problem with the input switching. I can even point in straight up at the ceiling or at the sidewall with no hangups.
