Need some help.
I recently received a new model 811 to receive high def signals. I can't seem to get the remote to work with it. I tried disconnecting the UHF antenna like the instructions state, but still can't get it to communicate.
Does anyone have any suggestions.
Thanks-

You need to make sure the harmony and 811 are set to the same remote address. Check your user's guide.

When I told the HarmonyRemote wizard that I had an 811, it directed me to a vague "DishNetwork PVRs" page that confusingly described how to make the remote work with the receiver. The instructions didn't seem to match the 811. I called Dish Network and they explained how to put the 811 into "Teach Remote" mode, but it wasn't clear to me (a new 676 user) how to put the remote into "Learn" mode.
To my surprise, without my knowingly doing anything to the remote and without my doing anything to the 811, it was able to communicate with the 811 without difficulty. This, despite the following comment on the "DishNetwork PVRs" page: "The Dish 111 and 921 need to have the antenna disconnected before they will accept IR signals."
Not sure what I did right or wrong, but the remote seems to be working fine with the 811. I have some of my own follow-up questions about how to make the remote better emulate the 811's own remote, but I'll ask them in a new thread.
