So, finally, FINALLY managed to get my hands on a Harmony 880 at Bay Bloor Radio in Toronto (great service, they called me the moment they finally came in). I'm disappointed that the remote doesn't come with paper instructions...so I have a couple of questions I'm hoping some of you can help me with...
1) When you first hit "activities" and the list pops up, is there any way to change the order? "Watch DVD" is first (at the top of the remote) where as I would rather have "Watch Television" (or in my case, Watch PVR). Is it possible? How do you do this?
2) Is there any way to remove the images associated with activities so that it's just words? (like removing the popcorn bucket). Or can you put your own images on there? (I imagine 'no' but I had to ask).
3) How do you stop the montage of harmony remote pictures on the display when it's not in use? Can you put other images there? How is that done?
thanks everybody.

1) Can't change the order, but rumors are out there that Logitech may upgrade the software to allow this in the future.
2) Activity images can be removed and just listed as text, but you can not add your own activity images. Again rumors say this may change eventually too. To make the activities screen text only: log in to your web account, click "My Remote Preferences", click "Select A Theme", click "Harmony No Icons", click "Save".
3) Slideshow can not be stopped ( I don't believe) but you can change the slideshow with your own images: log in to your web account, click "My Remote Preferences", click "Set Up A Slide Show", follow direction on screen.

thanks JThree.
I appreciate your help...disappointed to learn i can't do anything about #1, but I'm sure they'll change that down the road, as well as allow for images of your own in #2.
Your solution for #3 worked well. I wish i could have the day and time turn off on the slideshow as it cuts off the top of the pics, but i was able to put the images in.
thanks again, gm

Just got my 880 yesterday at Best Buy. Was suprised they had 3 still in stock.
I didn't have much time last night, but I quickly began configuring the remote via the web interface.
Problem is, I had to quit in the middle of the SET UP ACTIVITIES process because I had to go work.
Now when I go back to the login page, it won't let me go back and start at the beginning of the SET UP ACTIVITIES process. It actually skipped the TV CONFIGURATION I had been working on.
I figured I'd just start from scratch. How can I erase all my settings on the web configurator and start from scratch. Is that possible?

You can reconfigure any device or activity from scratch under customize activity or more device options.
(Just make sure you're in the advanced user setup screen - its easier to use.)

Hey shorthand....
Is that through the REMOTE or WEB INTERFACE?
I ask because when I log into the web interface I am taken directly to SET UP ACTIVITIES. It seems I have to finish what I started before I am taken to any other type of screen.

Web interface (there is no remote configuration interface).
Up at the top it should say home or advanced setup - just click there. O/W set up one activity that doesn't need the missing device and add others later.

Shorthand, they removed the "Advance" option. Instead, at the end of the Wizard run, it gives you a review of your setting. At the bottom of the review, it gives you an option to add more control of options and add more devices for the Activity. This works fine but it goes through the choosing inputs again. I prefer the old method where you choose the "Advance" option at the very beginning of the Wizard run. That way you did not have to go through the choosing inputs twice.

I was the one who originally started this thread, and mentioned buying at Bay Bloor Radio. The cost there is $329.00 plus tax. I checked out other places and Best Buy also offered for the same price. Now, I bought at Bay Bloor because their customer service is legendary and having had problems with other harmony remotes in the past (and considering the 880 is a new model), I figured I might need them at some point.
