O.K., How's about this? I'd like to have an icon for "change activity", then upon selecting that icon I would be brought back to all the original activity icons that you get when you first power up the Harmony instead of a list of activities. My reason for this is simple, I have to put my glasses on and study the remote closely to read the list. Truly a major P.I.T.A.. However the icons are large enough to see easily without glasses. Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance,
Phil

Phil,

I have my "ZAP" button mapped to bring up the list of icons from whatever mode I am in. Works great (unless of course you are using the ZAP function)and is easy to explain to the rest of the family. The Harmony support folks showed me how to do it. If you are interested, I'd be glad to dig out the email and give you more details.

I don't know about Phil, but I would like to see the details. Would you dig out that email, Axel? Thanks.

Ken,

No problem. Below is the relevant section of the email. Remember you have to do this in all activities & modes. Sounds like a lot of work, but really isn't. I added all the "Change Button" mapping (and renamed each one) first, and then I went back and did the XML edit. Doing it this way, you just have to highlight and paste, which was very quick.

Please note that I had to change the opening parenthesis to ( from < to make it show in the post. Change it back to < when you do the actual modification.

Also, when you hit ZAP, you HAVE to pick a different activity. If I hit ZAP by mistake, I just put my hand over the signal emitter, pick a different activity and hit ZAP again and select the original one.

Here are the instructions:

- Add a Change Button Mapping activity for the activity you want to customize (add an infrared command to Zap in the Control Mode menu for example)
- select My Activities, Modify XML for an activity, then select the Change Button Mapping activity you just created.
- change the ACTION XML in both places (WEBDATA and DATA) to this:
(ACTION>
(TARGET>SsNavigator
(OPERATION>SetMenu Root
(/ACTION>

Thanks Axel, I think I can do that! I would much rather change activities this way. Ken

Thanks Axel, that sounds like exactly what I had in mind! I don't use the Zap button anyway so now at least it has a purpose.
Now if only there was a way to create my own icons and use them... :)
Phil
