The Universal remote that came with my RCA VCR broke a couple of months ago. My VCR is five or six years old. Now I can't access the menu to program the thing. What Im looking for is a cheap (under $100.00) remote that will let me access the program menu so I can set the timer to pre-record and turn on the commercial skip feature. Any recomendtations?
Thanks

Go to WalMart, or any similar discount store with an electronics department (area). RCA makes several "universal" remotes that can control several devices. Any RCA brand universal remote should have a code in it to work your VCR. You shouldn't have to spend more than $20. Other brands of universal remotes should also work your RCA VCR. Usually they have a list of the supported devices on the back of the packaging. Check to make sure the RCA brand is included.
I recently bought an out-of-box RCA TV at walmart. Since they couldn't find it's original remote, they gave me an RCA 3-in-1 universal off the shelf. Works great.
