I recently purchased a Sony SLV-D350P DVD/Vcr combo unit. I hooked it up to a Toshiba 24AF43 Tv and a Huighes satellite receiver.
Got it to work as follows:
Satellite to TV OK
DVD to TV OK
VCR to TV OK
But I cannot record from the TV to tape at all.
Hooked all the cables up as described in the Toshiba maual, but the Sony DVD/VCR manual leave a lot to be desired regarding imnterconnection wiring.
Can anyone help or point me to tjhe corrct forum
Thanks, Bill

You do not record from the TV, if you want to record a satellite signal, you need a RCA cable out of the SAT to the input jacks of the VCR. Then you need to switch the VCR to L1, AUX or whatever it calls the inputs jacks on the VCR.

Bill,
Be careful about asking questions that matter on this forum. Some of these guys pretend to help when they are really here to "goof off." The solution edmund gave you, however, was from the bottom of his heart. He's a good guy. Your receiver wont catch on fire or anything if you hook it up this way.

There's usually a thing called Macrovision, to prevent you from making a copy of dvd. That's why I use the SIMA SCC pro-series, but it won't help when the dvd & vhs in the same chassis.

I believe what Sir edmund is referring to is called Macrovision.

Marcovision is a product I invented in the 70's for use in playing the game Marco Polo in the swimming pool. These patented goggles will give a player the edge in that they are a type of sonar device, enabling the wearer to "see" his adversaries in the pool.

Well, since we are answering tech questions now, I have one:

I recently purchased a combo VCR/camera/one-way mirror/massage parlor/suntan booth and I can't seem to focus the camera on the naked girls. All I see is naked me. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Try a different SPF rating for your suntan lotion. The one you are using might be too reflective.....
