With all the threads posted in the Intermission forum that has to do with problems with remotes. Not crazy off the wall topics. I came up with an idea that would warn them that this forum is just for off the wall stuff. Since most of these threads are replies, it wouldn't bother us regs to "click" on an OK or something when we post a new thread.
Just an idea, and hopefully it will work, and you'll agree to make it happen just for this forum.

Not a bad idea I agree, But for an entirely different reason. Since this would add more than one 'moving' part to the response, it should thus reduce the number of replies from those 'less than nimble' members.

Dumb idea. Maybe I'm just impatient, but having to submit my post twice would be annoying.
How about if someone posts an actual question, you reply with a link to the appropriate forum?
I mean, all you're looking to do here is kill time anyway.

I mean, all you're looking to do here is kill time anyway. Dont worry CV I am just as impatient as you are, if not worse. I am thinking this idea will work for NEW threads. Not the threads that are going to be replied to. This warning should say something to the fact that. "You are about to type a post in a forum which is made for off the wall funny stuff. We have a whole list of forums at your disposal that you can post at for topics that you need help with. Please read over each forum's subject and choose from there." Just an idea. Rob

Mmm, well the welcome text DOES say "for discussion of any topic not already covered by one of our many other boards", and anything remote-related is obviously covered by other boards... :-)

Trouble is you can't state the obvious too often for some people.

I agree, also people might come here through Google
This what I will put
There are many forums for specific remotes and there is a general remote forum for all other remote questions. There are also other forums that deal with HT related stuff. This forum is where we have the looniest users and we let them free.
Make sure this is the right place to post.

You may have many subject lines on the index list of forums, and at the top of the forum for intermission. I was just wondering if it would be possible to have a little alert window come up when someone clicks on "Create New Thread" stating the mear fact that this forum is for the looney people.
I think Anthony has a good foundation for a statement as such.

New thread or not, I don't see the problem with replying with a: "Post to someone who cares."
