Hi, I want to be a party pooper.
Every Thursday night, religiously, the apartment above mine throws a big party with crappy dance music. The bass shakes my ceiling, makes my dog bark, and, most importantly, keeps me awake until the wee hours of the morn. I've tried to be a good sport, and asked them to please keep it down during the week. I mean, I'm 21, so I appreciate a good party every once in a while, but I also have a full time, 8-5 job. Well, my, and other tenants, requests have gone ignored.
As a last resort, I'd like to be the party pooper remotely. I don't want to destroy any equipment or cause any harm to anyone, but I'd like to be able to turn down their stereo from my apartment somehow. They could be able to turn it back up, of course, but I figure after I turn it back down a few times, they'll tired tired of it and just turn the thing off.
So, any brilliant ideas on how to make the parties stop?

Cut the power off at the meter. Turn it back on in the morning when you go to work.--Dave.

I tried that for a while, but I always overslept and had to reset my clocks. That gets annoying. Any other ideas?

Here are some
Join the party, they tend to be less annoying if you are there.
Get IR->RF->IR extender, install the RF->IR part in his apartment
Install X10 module in his apartment (at the stereo) then control it from switch at your place
Put loud music when you get up in the morning
Get ear plugs
Have your own parties
Move
