They used to be indecisive. Now they're not so sure.

I love the little digs Daniel puts in for Dial-up users when downloading files:

Filename: pio-rptv.zip
Size: 6kb <30s at 28.8k or 56k
Blink and you'll miss it on broadband

Just one of the few messages I've seen. Another one was:

You'd have it right now if you had broadband

Funny!

Actually, I've just noticed my connection speed has increased; it's now 38.6Kbps.

Goodness me, any faster and I'm going to get a nosebleed.

If anyone thinks up any other good lines, I'll add 'em. :-)

For large files it *does* show a real download time for broadband.

how about

"why bother reading the description, it will be faster to download and give it a try"

or

"by the time you read this you would have had the time to download the file many times."

Alas that's the whole point . . . I can't get it. I've applied three times, but the answer's always the same; my line isn't quite good enough - and that's just for "standard" 512Kb. BT/Yahoo are now offering 1Mb and if I was lucky enough to be with BlueYonder I could get up to 3Mb.

My tags are:

Remember - speed kills. Use Dial-up.

Dial up may be slow, but it gets there . . . eventually.

Dial up - downloads with a built in lunch break.

Forget the rat race and chill out with dial-up.

Probably something to do with your OE settings. I had a similar problem, sent some snooty e-mails to BT, then realised the mistake was mine. Oops!
