If one uses a pin to select Lotto numbers, pinholes will obviously be the result. But of course, the odds of actually winning the Lotto are probably similar to those of finding a needle in a haystack; pretty slim.

Very good, but I was thinking more along the lines of holes.
Pinholes - The Beatles - A Day In The Life -"four thousand holes in Blackburn Lancashire" (not far from where the wife comes from) - "Now they know how many holes it takes to fill the Albert Hall"

Anthony,
Whilst I'm not about to dispute your answer you really are going to have to start thinking a little more abstractly.
Pixar - computer animation - "Toystory" - Mr Potato Head - patented 1952 - 50's.
------------------------------------------------------
Pixar - computer animation - Academy Award - Geri's Game - "Old Codger" playing chess in a park.
