Not exactly sure where to ask this question - hoping someone can give me some info here.

I am looking for some kind of PC Controlled IR Remote Control that could control various units via a computer program sent to an IR transmiitter, most likely attached to PC via serial, usb or parallel port.

I am sure there must be an animal like this. It's really not that different than a remote that can run macros for various units.

The reason I ask for this versus a typical Universal Macro Remote is that I want to be able to schedule events via terminal services, remote desktop, vnc, pcAnywhere or something of that nature. Thus I need to be able to schedule events via the PC when not in the room.

If anyone knows of something that would fit the bill, would you let me know?

Thanks

How much do you want to spend?

If money is no object look into using an:
Ocelot and a
SECU16IR from ADI:
