Blackberry. Just got the web browser working and I wanted to see what RC looked like. (You see the remote at the top of the sreen but it is messed up (ie in pieces on different lines)

Had used the BW version, but it was useless. Have tried the WEP browser but it had problems. The web browser looks ok, but is slow (all the pics) but is usable

A stable, easy-to-use, versatile tabbed browser.

The Fastest Web Browser on Earth!

Try Avant! I've had it for years, and I will never not use it. You can change the skins to all the different skins that they have. Use different search engines. There is easy access to your history, fav, search and stuff like that. Comstmize every button on there. Including the "system buttons" You know the File, Edit and Tools buttons.

Anthony said Blackberry. Is he not talking about the Blackberry PDA?

Yes, but much more. The original bb was a pager that was integrated with e-mail. They don't make the pager size any more, but the latest ones are e-mail, PDA, phone... They were the ones that started keyboards craze

[Link: blackberry.net]

I have the 7280, but it is work that is paying for it and using it in "enterprise" mode. There are different ways of using it

web: use an account created with the cell company/RIM:

desktop: have the desktop SW redirect your e-mails to the BB

enterprise: Have a server/SW on the network that takes care of all the back end stuff

I tried web and enterprise, enterprise is definitely the way to go. It adds a lot of functionality and is the way I am using it now.

----------

I've been a fan of the BB and RIM since I tried the 857, but unluckily it was not a good fit back then (network used was limited). Moving to the cell phone network was a smart move for them (that was not available when the 8XX came out).

I have tried the 857/850, 6750, 6280, 6510 and now 7280

for companies, I would say it is a good investment if e-mail and contact are important. For casual use, I think it is a bit expensive (i.e. per month usage charges)

Wow! I can see that for a company that has the backend server, it would be an extremely useful tool.

Not exactly suited to me.... I think I'd be more in the range of a Pam OS based SmartPhone.

Totally cool though!

Also, I had no idea that Blackberry had expanded so much to include as many models as they have.

Good for them. I remember when they were a startup company that everyone thought would fail because of the Palm OS and Windows CE.

I guess they found a great niche and really worked hard on it.

I don't think it is any faster and possibly a tiny bit slower overall, but in terms of faster meaning easier to navigate and move around sites, then it blows IE away. I even like it better than Opera.

I've just loaded it a couple of days ago, thanks to this message, and LOVE IT!

Much appreciated!

Greg, Believe it or not. It is Opera.

The guy changed the name to Avant 2 years ago when I saw it on The Screen Savers. Back then I think it was on version 4 something. Basicaly he kept the verion number the same as IE Opera, but just changed the name and did a heck alot of updates to it since then too.

I have the splitter bar enabled. So that I can go to my history, search and favorite list with ease. It's located on the left side of the screen, both full screen and normal screen. In order to enable it, you have to go the Avant opitions. Then down to Misc UNcheck the "hide splitter bar when closed"

One of the other best parts that I like is the fact that I can click on the short cut and it will open of course. But it will open both Intermission forum and Pronto forum with out me clicking on the links to open it. That is of course located in the HomePage section. So you could have it open more than one "home page" when it opens.

I to love this browser. I can't live with out it on my computer.

But Opera is still being updated on its own, so I guess this is an older Opera updated by the Avant Guy.

Yes, I love to have that split window on the left.

I did not know you could open two or more pages at once. That would be awesome. I'll look into that!

Thanks again!

I was just messing around with it the past few minutes. And I just found out that if you want to go to google.com all you have to type in the address bar is gg How lovely is that? google.com was just an example. msn.com and yahoo.com are in there. However, you can add what you want in there too. This opition is located in Alais URL under avant browser.

Also, be sure to go to "New Window" And check all of the "Always creat new window for:....." So that you can have it open a new window for each of those. That part I really love too.

Where is IE Opera at, what's the address? I just want to take a look at it.
