I am a relatively new user of the site, and have been a major fan until today. When I left my computer unattended with my Internet Explorer browser open to a few RemoteCentral.com pages, I came back to discover no less than FOUR spyware programs had automatically installed on my system. Yours was the only website I had running at the time. It took me over 30 minutes to find and remove all of the programs!

To be honest I am not CERTAIN the spyware came from you guys at RemoteCentral.com, which is why this is all in the form of a question rather than an accusation. Given Windows' nefarious security history, it is equally reasonable to assume some foul hacker has found a new expoit and you happened to be in the crossfire.

Please tell me this SPYWARE CANNOT be coming from you guys (especially without MY CONSENT!!). I have made it a point to support your site by clicking your sponsors' links to shop their sites and review their offerings. I understand that maintaining the site costs you money, and I feel compelled to help you via use of the online ads.

So, please respond to this post. I genuinely like your site, but in order to protect mine and my family's privacy online I NEVER allow spyware installations on my computers. If these programs which installed on my system without my permission, came from your site, then I will (regretfully) never visit it again.

For reference, the following items installed on my computer without intervention or consent from me while my browser was pointed to RemoteCentral's downloads area: VegasRedCasino, ClockSync, 180Search, and at least one other (whose name escapes me at the moment).

Again, I will readily admit that given Windows security with more holes in it than Swiss cheese, this might all be coming from someone/somewhere else. However, I have never seen such activity while my browser was pointed to any other site, only RemoteCentral.com. I would genuinely appreciate a response on this. Thanks.

P.S.
For anyone who does not know, spyware is a type of income-generating tool used by web masters at the expense of the trust of a site's visitors. Typically, following installation, it hides itself and monitors your web activity in order to track your online movements and commecial activity. The worst of them hide very effectively and can be VERY difficult to remove.

Click on the Contact button at the top of the page and email Daniel, the owner of the site, and he'll tell you that this site does NOT install spyware.

But, he'll definitely look into it for you to be sure.

Actually, I might as well give you the contact here:

[email protected] is the address he uses for problems, etc.

Perhaps a coincidence... I just had three spywares pop up on my ZoneAlarm outgoing query, while here at RC:
WinWildApp.exe, YgOjpz.exe and kx9K.exe

I believe it is the ad banner for lovemynet.com or whatever the site's name is. I just sent an email to Daniel, hopefully I am right about this ad and he'll be able to take care of it. I also had asked about a free software that I can get rid of this stuff off of my computer, one that isn't spyware itself either. Does any one have opinons?

I've stopped displaying the company that's likely sending these.

Ads that we don't sell ourselves goes to a third party company that fills in blanks. Unfortunantly, now and again someone sneaks a nasty ad in there. I've informed the company about this. I have *no* tolerance for these sort of ads.

You'll notice a ton of "charity ads" displaying instead.

Thank you Ken and Daniel. I was able to find 57 bad software on my pc. But it didn't get rid of the ones that was giving my problems. I had to do a task manger and a search and find for those problem programs. I believe that they are gone now.

Hello All

I can attest to the same here. Further, the rotating banner adds at the top changed to a banner for a XXX site. This is what really clued me in since the notebook that I usually use is being 2 physical FW and Checkpoint SecurClient on the host itself. Since I opened the HTTP connection, it seems that some of the banner adds are installing unwanted code. This happened over the week end, hence I believe that there is still some "Bad A** Add" floating around.
