Hmm, according to the dictionary it means "to drink”, with the connotation being either “to drink alcohol” or “to drink something into the senses or mind”.

Which connotation do you think we Canadians prefer, Daniel? ;-)
Besides, if it is the first one, the second one is moot, because "senses" becomes "senseless" and "mind" becomes "mindless" after a few too many! ;-)
