I notice that everytime I'm here, I get two "permanent" cookies from outside remotecentral.com:
1) username@qksrv.net
2) username@ads.gorillanation.com
Just curious, what functions do these perform?

Likely outside ad servers. Nothing to do with us specifically (we only send one cookie for forums).

Interesting -- after noticing (several months ago) the two cookies I mentioned before, they didn't show up today. Now I'm getting hit by two players I've never seen (from here) before:
z1.adserver.com, and
tribalfusion.com
