My remote control suddenly stop working. It had stopped working 2-3 times before but it was back to normal again. This time it won't. The weird thing is sometime if I kept pressing some buttons like volume control or power, it did work. Did anyone use to have this similar problem and how do you fix it?
Some more informations
- I normally use rechargeable battery that is weak(in order to discharge the battery) in the remote since it seems that the remote doesn't need a lot of charge to operate. Can the low voltage from neearly drained up (and also only 1.2V) rechargeable battery cause the problem? I don't suspect this since I have used it this way for years.
- My universal remote which normally would be able to control this tv acts same way. Seems that TV won't response to the remote. Is it possible that the reception sensor gones bad? Is there anyway to check?
-I read from the web that if you remove the battery and press every buttons ,it will reset the remote. I tried but still dosn't work. Is it ay other way to reset the remote?

Is it possible that the reception sensor gones bad? Is there anyway to check? never heard of it, but anything is possible. did you just change something in the environment (i.e. light bulbs, place of the TV.....) did you try unplugging the TV for some time?

First let me say how brave you are asking a serious question here in the 'play room'.
Now; A. have you tried NEW batteries in the remote? B. Is it only your TV that has this problem? C. Have you made any changes to the viewing area, changed the drapes, added different lights or lamps, moved the TV to a different location?
Since two remotes are acting the same way I'd say the problem my be with the TV.
ALRIGHT! Hey EPEE, where's that VODKA?

its obviously that your finger is not working properly or that the "tip" as us experts call it has worn out i would recommend a new finger

just in case it's both the remote and your finger, mount that new finger on a really long stick.
heck, while you're at it, you might as well buy a complete, new HT Setup.

Oh well..sorry if I posted in the wrong forum. This is my first post here. Maybe I would try the fresh new batt first. Don't want to think if it is the TV sensor that went bad. Any suggestion?
