I just got myself into the home theatre realm and now I think I might need a universal remote. I am starting to dislike having to hold 2 remotes at the same time. The universal remote that came with my Denon receiver does not have codes for my RCA 5 disc DVD changer and does not "learn". All I need is something that can do my denon receiver, 2 vcr's (both the same brand), DVD player, TV, and for future purposes, DTV/Cable, and room for one or two more random things. I'm looking around no more than $50 because I just can't justify the cost of a home theatre master mx-500. LCD/hard button combo preferred if done well. just looking for some recomendations. Started to look at the Sony rm-vl1000 and it looked all right. So did the One For All URC-9910 . Opinions?

This is the 'play area', not that you won't get an answer, it just might not be what you want. Maybe you should repost on another forum.
That said, you might go to the main page and try the "Clicker Picker" to find you dream remote. The main page also has reviews of most of the popular remotes.
BTW: Once I too thought that I could never justify paying more than $50.00 for a remote. Well, now I have TWO MX-500's and consider it the best purchase I've ever made.

Now here's a little story to tell it is a must About an unsung hero that moves away your dust Some people make a fortune other's earn a mint My old man don't earn much In fact....he's flippin'.....skint Oh! my old man's a dustman he wears a dustman's hat He wears cor blimey trousers and he lives in a council flat He looks a proper narner in his great big hob nailed boots He's got such a job to pull em up that he calls them daisy roots Some folks give tips at Christmas and some of them forget So when he picks their bins up he spills some on the steps Now one old man got nasty and to the council wrote Next time my old man went 'round there he punched him up the throat Oh! my old man's a dustman he wears a dustman's hat He wears cor blimey trousers and he lives in a council flat I say I say Duncan! I 'er...I found a police dog in my dustbin (How do you know he's a police dog?) He had a policeman with him Though my old man's a dustman he's got a heart of gold He got married recently though he's 86 years old We said 'Ear! Hang on Dad you're getting past your prime' He said 'Well when you get to my age it helps to pass the time' Oh! my old man's a dustman he wears a dustman's hat He wears cor blimey trousers and he lives in a council flat I say I say I say! My dustbins full of lillies (Well throw 'em away then) I can't Lilly's wearing them Now one day while in a hurry he missed a lady's bin He hadn't gone but a few yards when she chased after him 'What game do you think you're playing' she cried right from the heart 'You've missed me...am I too late?' 'No... jump up on the cart' Oh! my old man's a dustman he wears a dustman's hat He wears cor blimey trousers and he lives in a council flat I say I say I say (What you again!) My dustbin's absolutely full with toadstools (How do you know it's full) 'Cos there's not much room inside He found a tiger's head one day, nailed to a piece of wood The tiger looked quite miserable but I suppose it should Just then from out a window, a voice began to wail He said (Oi! Where's me tiger head) Four foot from it's tail Oh! my old man's a dustman he wears a dustman's hat He wears cor blimey trousers and he lives in a council flat Next time you see a dustman looking all pale and sad Don't kick him in the dustbin it might be my old dad

chim chimney, chim chimney, chim chimney, chim chim cheree a sweep is as lucky, as lucky as can be chim chimney, chim chimney, chim chimney, chim chim cheroo good luck will rub off when i shakes hands with you
oh, blow me a kiss and that's lucky, too
now as the ladder of life has been strung you may think a sweep's on the bottom-most rung though i spend my time in the ashes and smoke in this whole wide world there's no happier bloke
chim chimney, chim chimney, chim chimney, chim chim cheree a sweep is as lucky, as lucky as can be chim chimney, chim chimney, chim chimney, chim chim cheroo good luck will rub off when i shakes hands with you
oh, blow me a kiss and that's lucky, too
up where the smoke is all billowed and curled twixt pavement and stars is the chimney sweep world where there's hardly no day and there's hardly no night there's things half in shadow and things half in light
on the rooftops of london, god wht a sight
chim chimney, chim chimney, chim chimney, chim chim cheree a sweep is as lucky, as lucky as can be chim chimney, chim chimney, chim chimney, chim chim cheroo good luck will rub off when i shakes hands with you
oh, blow me a kiss and that's lucky, too
