1. Order MX500 from "AV Smarts" because they are a sponsor here.

2. Place the order (Wednesday). Cool, 2nd day air, it'll be here Friday.
3. Get an email. "We missed the shipper today", it'll be Monday before you get it.
4. (Me) Let's change delivery to next day so I'll be able to program it this weekend.
5. (Adam) Okay, give me your CC number.
6. Billed an additional $13 for shipping.
7. Get an email miniutes ago...
"Hello,
The Universal Remote Control MX-500 is currently on backorder. I just got word from my shipping department that the inventory was not uploading to computer file correctly. This remote is expected to be in stock by
mid-December or sooner. We apologize for this mistake and any inconvenience this may have caused you. If you need to cancel your order please let me know.

8. Wait... you said it was packed in the warehouse and that next day shipping would get it here?

9. Checked the credit card statement online:
Billed: One MX500 and 2nd day shipping.
Billed: One shipping upgrade for $13.00

Okay. Now I can understand a poor ordering system that doesn't know if they have inventory or not... happens all the time. But, most companies don't BILL YOU UNTIL THE PRODUCT HAS SHIPPED. I've been billed.

Some may not have a problem with this, but I DO. I've bought a lot of stuff online over the years and honestly, this is the first COMPLETE BS Transaction I've encountered. Really disapointed. I can't believe a vendor would BILL ME then tell me they don't have it.

Sorry for the rant. I'm pissed.

How's this one from Symantec:

Wife calls & pays with VISA (too much) in US $ for Norton system works -over 130 Cnd$. I get home 15 mins later & call back after checking SW Pro in CDN $ is cheaper here than the other shipped from US. I call back Symantec 5 mins later 20 mins after wife's order & cancel order - they say ok order cancelled. I then go out & buy SW PRO at a store here. 3 days later SW arrives via courier!! We call Syamntec & they say its ours!! We go through the refund process on the phone & they say ok refund processed give the SW disk to a charity & provide the name - do it online - online link fails to work. Email to Symantec - your link doesn't work - response can't do refund then.
I called & spoke to supervisor on phone & he said he would request forgiveness from billing division - he couldn't authorize it. I said I would ship SW back - he said can't accept that. I said how long to find out about whether we get "forgiven" he said they don't call or send letters. If I see the charge on next bill then they didn't & if I don't pay - they will send it to a collection agency - I said why if they have charged my VISA card for it? He said he didn't know.
Visa bill arrives few weeks later -charge appears on it. I call back & they have no record of my purchase or my "forgiveness" request as the my 2nd phone call cancellation removed the charge & details from their database, so NOW!!! they can't do a forgiveness request on a transaction that didn't take place!!!!
I suggested I return the CD & a copy of my VISA bill - again they won't accept returns. I said ok how about a copy of the visa bill only, so he can do a forgiveness with that?? He says he still can't do anything about a transaction that "didn't" take place!!!
SSHHEEEESH - If I now get a letter from a collection agency.........!!!!!!!

Feel any better now Mr. Kenobe??

Here's a suggestion. In which I did once with Webtv.

I called my credit card. Talked to them why there is two transactions for webtv. They said one was placed at 8 in the morning, and the other was placed at 6 at night. Got off the phone with them, called webtv and told them that they charged my card twice. They have no record of the night time one. So I called back my card back. Told them what webtv told me. And they issured me that they did charge me. So I got both companies on my phone at the same time. So all three of us talked about it. And my card company agreed to take it off, at the same time. Webtv agreed to refund me the "second" charge.

So with the card company takinig it off my account, and webtv refunding me. The thing came out to be zero. Which i was happy about. But then a week later, received a letter from my card company saying that webtv already refunded me. So they won't take the charge off.....

I was like "darn, so I can't get a months service for free???"

So here is my suggestion. Call both companies at the same time. Three way calling. And have them talk to both. Personaly, I would call the card company first, since nurton is deining the whole thing.

don't know if it is late, but call Visa to get the charge canceled. If they truly have no more records of you purchasing it, then how will they be able to prove you bought it to Visa.

Okiewan: I can understand it was a rant, and you might not want anything more from it then that. But here is the profile of the owner Eric

Visa woudn't/won't cancell it.
