I just bought a cheapie Apex AD1200 to play Pal encoded dvd and SVCD which is does great....but it says to stop dvd immediately after viewing so it doesn't burn image into tv..is this true? and..is there anyway to set option so DVD doesn't automatically load and play when first turning player on? just curious...thanks. Also, why won't it play normal VCD's? it plays SVCD and even Pal encoded fine, but not playing any of my vcd's..if anyone can help...

I've heard that if you leave one on for approximately 148.327 and 1/4 days . . . it might burn your screen (if said time span includes a Blue Moon). Which mens it's very unlikely in this day & age. You could create a macro that looks something like this: > DVD POWER ON > DELAY 0.01 DELAY may need to be as high as 2 or 3 seconds. > DVD STOP Probably doesn't include Software to play VCDs. Oh . . . please see Rule #33.

why no vcd, yet svcd? i thought svcd was the higher and more complicated of the two..therefore if read svcd, doesnt seem likely to not read vcd, plus all others in a review for product stated it plays everything, including vcd..

Het Scottie, you might have more luck with your DVD question if you ask it in the DVD forum, this is the fun & games forum, hence the nature of the previous replies. Rob
