I found this site while trying to find a "rabbit" remote control. Hopefully some one can help me out.

I recall many years ago that there was a product that allowed you to control something remotely from a different room. I believe it converted IR to RF, then from RF back to IR. I think it was from a company called rabbit.

Does anyone recall a product like this ? Is there another way to use a remote control from a large distance ?

Thank you

I do! The Rabbit was a two piece device that would transmit an RF signal over a thin two-conductor wire and translate the signal back into RF, and at the same time, act to send an IR command back the other way.

There are now many RF remotes that work quite well. You can probably find a device that does the same 2-way as the Rabbit, but wirelessly. I'm not a walking catalog, but I'm sure others will chime in with some info.

Anyone?

Radio Shack make a product that does this, they are two small pyramids. Go to http://www.radioshack.com and enter product number "930-0757" to see them.

They are listed as out of stock on their web site, but you can probably still get them in the stores, if not, there's usually a few of them on ebay.

Here's a link to a bunch of extenders on ebay right now.

Ken, you just had to jinx it, didn't ya? Just had to say something!

By the way, Rob, the PowerMid only relays the IR commands, not the A/V RF.

Yeah, I know, but he wasn't asking about RF, he just wanted a way to extend the range of his IR signals.
