Well, I pawned 'er, but that REALLY ticked her off, so I'll have to stay out of THIS thread! :-/

I'm not so sure she was as ticked off at being pawned as at how little they gave me for 'er! he he

Flattery will get you everywhere with me!

Okay, so it did cost me a couple of bucks, but I think it was worth it! ;-)

Too bad you didn't live in Murietta at the time!!

""We hadn't tried the program in a couple of years. And the way the city has grown, I expected to get a lot more this time," she said. This year, at least so far, there have been fewer takers. Only about a dozen have been picked up this month. "Maybe they've lost paperwork, or maybe it's just too expensive. They just want to get rid of it, and they're not sure how. We'll come haul it away for free."
The city gets reimbursed through a state Abatement Program. When you buy your license, $1 goes into the fund to help communities haul away junk. Getting rid of it this way usually involves fewer headaches than trying to sell it or get rid of that old bucket yourself.

"Most people think you have to have the paperwork, but we don't need it," Mejia said. "We can run the license and take care of all of that."

The program is designed to help keep Murrieta beautiful.

"We live in such a wonderful place," Mejia said. "Let's get rid of those eyesores sitting in people's yards."

For more information on the program call xxx-6337. Or contact John Hunnegone at (909) xxx-4315, Ext. 2603, or [email protected]"

Daniel -

MrKlaatu has left us, it seems, for good. I for one miss him. But in my humble opinion, we need to nominate someone to take over the reigns (or rains if you prefer) of MrKlaatu in order to spice up the forum. I say we have a contest, and whomever wins gets to take over his monicar, or minicar or monicle or however you spell it.

What say you? We can form a committee to put together the rules and stipulations. I'll volunteer to be on it. So who is with me on this????????

I'm just trying to remember why I started this thread.

*As for Mr K's replacement one should note that the nominee will need to be able to make a killer chili. If more than one meets this criterion I suggest a "cook-off" in Hawaii . . . Methinks two weeks should just about be enough.

David -

My wife has the absolute BEST chili recipe in the world. Hands down. No competition.

My daughter just moved to Hawaii (Oahu) with her husband, who is in the army. We plan to visit her in October. We'll meet anyone there and supply all the chili you can eat at a place to be determined upon further communication.

So who is game?

October, now let me see . . .

If I add 15 to that, then take away 42, divide all by 16 and then multiply by 23, I should have 8 times what I had 4 years ago - i.e. nowt. I'll let you know if we win the lottery in the meantime.

PS
Take a map; don't get LOST.
