Here's a completed example of a Channel Macro Wizard animation.

Let me know what you think.

I think it looks great and I think you're on to something that could really be of great benefit to new (and old) users.

John;

You are creating a 'Creating a Wizard', Wizard, right? And you will share it with others so that you do not have to carry this "burden" all alone, yes?

I do think Rhubarb taught us all a lesson, in that it will probably be necessary for someone to "administer" these files ,not so much for conformity, but for content . . . well, maybe a little bit of conformity.

I see by properties that you are using Yahoo! Groups. Have you got hold of Daniel on his offer yet?

(Forgive me if these questions have already been answered in a thread I have yet to read, I just got home from work . . . and they actually made me DO some work today (  ), so I haven't been able to keep up with the many & varied threads addressing this Great Idea)! [Now I truly understand why Cross-Posting is a BAD THING!]

Anyway, will we be privy to the Yahoo! Group and be allowed to join? Hope there's no hazing for new members! A TOGA! Party wouldn't be a bad idea, though.

I realize it's all new & in it's infancy, and you have your hands full getting it off the ground. Just curious when we might be able to join in!

I have figured out that if you have Download Accelerator Plus, you can download the entire animation, and if you have a GIF Animation Program, you can then Run & Pause at your leisure. (I use 'ULEAD GIF Animator Lite Edition (GALE). It is a FREE Download from my Favorite .

I guess I ought to just move along and find out if any of these questions have already been answered! Either way, I'm sure I'll have a few more.

Once again, from what I've seen so far, it is a GREAT IDEA taking Wonderful Shape!!! Kudos to you!

Let me know when you guys join.

Mike, I know Daniel said he would host our "Creations", but I wanted everyone to get a "feel" for this first.

I'm sure up front it will take a little time fine tuning to get things to where it would be ready for others to use, and I'm sure Daniel doesn't want to be fine tuning these things. I think he has enough to do.

Plus we could use the groups site as a "pre-staging" or "test" area, to see what others think before we release it to the "population".

What do ju guys tink? Heh?

Hey John!

I'm number two.

What about that "Create a Wizard, Wizard"? It might help keep things a little bit consistent. If not a Wizard, then how about an outline, including what Progs you are using.

I'm not clear what you mean about the wizard thing Mike. (I'm sure you'll clear that one up for me ;))

As far as programs, I am using good ol' ALT+Print Scrn to capture the shots of the editing program. Then I load the shots into Paint, resize or retouch, add word balloons then save them.

I then use IRFANVIEW to convert them into GIFs, and then I use a GIF animator to create the animated gifs.

I'll give you more info later when I get home.

Ciao, JJP

You know . . . a Wizard that explains how you creat the Pronto Wizards. Mainly just to keep some uniformity in images at RCHelp.

Speaking of which . . . RCHelp??.......John, you've got a better imagination than that! I don't mean that to be a dis, you know. It just seems pretty 'Plain Jane' to me. Too utilitarian. But, that's JMHO!

Because the concept is so new Mike, I haven't really thought about that. I think it will really depend on what we think looks good and what will be the least confusing.

I like the way my sample turned out, but it may not work well in every situation. I think it will depend on the subject, and what works best for it. This is the very reason I think the Yahoo group will work best for ironing out the format before it becomes part of the Remote Central FAQ.

As far as the name of the group goes, I think it was the most simplest way to describe the group and keep it short. Again, this is new and as anything new, it will have it's quirks and take some time to fine tune.

(Plus, I don't know if it could be renamed. And if it could be, I would have no flockin clue!!! LOL)

I think you're doing it the right way, John. Testing, refining, getting your and others feet wet.

I do think ultimately that hosting it on Daniel's site is the way to go. Too many people don't want to go through the hassle of joing a yahoo group to get the info.

But, I think you're going about it the right way, and although I can't see your "Wizard" above, I'm sure it is great!

Also, I agree with Mr. K. on the uniformity of visuals and content.

See you at the group!

... Greg :-)
