So I was just flipping channels and came across a Nicorette ad that I've seen before. It's one of those short ads that tries to come off as "helpful medical information" from someone other than Nicorette.

At any rate, the "presenter" is talking about their new better tasting gum, "and here's what some people quitting think". We then cut to a clip of 3 people standing outside in jackets, in what seems to be a smoker's corner... chewing gum. And here's the fantastic and obviously scripted testimonials.

"Oh, I've tried the others."
"This is better than I remember."
"Not bad."

Really? Where's the gushing praise you normally get on these things? Or should we be asking, just how horrible tasting is the product that this is the most positive verbage that the legal department would allow?

And furthermore, why is there a notation beneath these people that reads "Monetary exchange required for use of the product"?

So if I have a pack of the gum, and you want to try a piece, I'll have to collect money from you before I can give you one? You boys to the north sure have some strange laws.
"You can't fix stupid."
