No longer alas, he's just signed for Lincoln City - the usual mad musical chairs of the close season. Not to worry, onwards and upwards (hopefully) for there is indeed cause for new found optimism. This coming season brings the dawn of a new era.

After almost 15 years of being Chairman, manager, head cook and bottle washer, Graham Turner has severed his ties with the club and returned to his spiritual home; Shrewsbury Town - which will, no doubt, add a further splash of piquancy to the already tasty local derby. In his stead we now have . . .

David Keyte (Chairman) - Spent a little while on United's books as a youth, but never quite made the grade.
Tim Russon (Vice Chairman) - Used to head up ITV Central (South) sport, but is now freelance.
Simon Davey (Manager)
Andy Fensome (Assistant Manager)

PS
And in case you didn't know, Brian Evans won a cap for Wales whilst playing for United, but that was back in 1973.

well here in Manchester i think I'm the only person who thinks the Rooney fiasco was a clever plan by AF and Rooney to put pressure on the owners to stump up cash for new players , neither the manger or Rooney called each other in fact it was all compliments genius and world class player etc and AF has never left the door open on a player before regardless of how good they are..

Forget the "Premier" League. Go and see a real (i.e affordable) game . . . United are at Stockport on Saturday.
