Noticed that Howie Mandel is replacing David Hasselhoff as judge. That means America's Got Talent is now judged by two brits and a canuck.

Does that mean that heavily patriotic acts will be in vain?

You might think that; I couldn't possibly comment.

I think the British Isles would have the corner on patriotic songs.
When ignorance is bliss, ‘tis folly to be wise.

I love my country but i don't like the politicians and racists who hi jack patriotism and flags for there seedy underhanded schemes ..Friday was St Georges day the patron saint of England and it was an excuse for every low life scum bag racist on my street to fly a Flag.
They formed a moronic gang chanting England and waving fans when an Indian family whose kids were born here went into there house on the same street then laughed to each other when they closed there door.. all the time swigging cans of Carling lager in there front garden.

No i am not a fan of patriotic songs and i think most British people don't know the national anthem only the first line of so.

The earth should sing as one human nation not as little bits that man has carved artificially on a map.

but i am a dreamer hate is too easy and love of not just your own but of other nations is much harder.

patriotism is a tricky subject

Know where you're coming from Bob, but not everyone who takes a little pride in being English/Welsh/Scottish/Irish/British are xenophobic fascists.

Very true but i feel 90% in my area are, When you go on holiday to Spain or Greece etc these are the sort of men who wear shorts and are often topless displaying England Tattoos in restaurants for evening meals , They call every Spanish person Pedro or Manuel ..They are the sort that make me embarrassed on holiday that i am English.

I feel that as a British person we as a nation have a lot to be proud of , we have achieved so much and i am proud of that , but the Spanish and Greeks and Turkish see us on holiday as a bunch of larger swilling ignorant louts and i must admit to living in that type of persons area.

I do take pride in being English but I choose not to display it in such a crass way as many of my Chavs sorry neighbours.
