I am curious is anyone else wondering if, in the future, Tom Baker might re-play a future incarnation of the doctor? that whole curator stuff and "re-visiting old faces" implies that the Doctor eventually comes back as Tom Baker (as well as possibly others).

Tom Baker is still my classic childhood image of Doctor Who - he was the one on daily reruns while I was growing up. I probably should've been most familiar with Peter Davidson or Colin Baker... but maybe they weren't running current episodes.

No sure if anyone else watched "An Adventure in Space and Time" - I found it absolutely fascinating. No bugged eyed monsters, said Sydney Newman, but in only the fifth episode Verity Lambert brought forth the Daleks - hence the reason they're so fondly remembered by people of a certain age. And talking of age...

William Hartnell died in 1975, aged 67 - which means that when he took on the role of the first Doctor, Grandfather (the old man) was actually only 55 - that 3 years younger than I am today!

This is Dr Who - anything is possible; e.g. Richard Hurndall playing William Hartnell's role in The Five Doctors.

same here (though for me it was weekly on PBS)

I also think that it could be due to him being one of the actors playing the doctor for the longest time (at least episode wise)

yup, saw it, thought it was interesting. I think a lot of good re-curing adversaries are fondly remembered (cyberman, the master...)

that is young

but that is a new actor filling in for an actor that passed away
