Up here in Canada, instead of drug ads we're inundated with cosmetic ads, the ones where they keep inventing their own words and terms (the latest is to reduce "under-eye crêping"). At any rate, the 3D lipstick got me going...

I remember seeing HD makeup while standing there with my girlfriend losing valuable seconds of my life that i wont ever get back. So now that 3D is the new buzzword i guess they will all switch.

One thing i noticed in Spain that you wont find in the US is they make ridiculous claims on the product packaging. I saw an oil of olay product that said something like "guaranteed to make you look 3 years younger". In the US it will be more like "our product makes you look and feel younger". Now that i think about it i think it was about being able to remove cellulite. It was about 5 years ago i think. I remember standing in a store with my girlfriend losing more time i wont ever get back :) reading the boxes thinking about how they would never get away with those ads in the US.

Dan, same here, many of them in the OT threads in the CI section (some of those posts are scary). A bit OT but not so much, you where making fun of 3D make-up, but does anyone remember [Link: cargocosmetics.com] or [Link: ohgizmo.com] you might not be as far off as you think. Personally after seeing the thread you started, I am voting for the 3D bras over lipstick :)
