Does anyone know of a method for reporting a post to a Mod, and/or Daniel, without opening up their profile and PMing them...?

Just seems a little half assed to do it that way.

I'd just like to have a spammer cleaned out of what could be a usefull thread.

I agree, Maybe Daniel should allow a few members to become Mod's to block these type of people doing this.

Well, at this point I know of three active moderators, (excluding Daniel):

Glackowitz
Impaqt
Lyndel McKee

My point is... There doesn't seem to be an easy way to contact them. Unless you feel that tracking down their profile page and sending them a PM is easy.

Well, there hasn't been TOO much of a problem with that... there's a link to the moderators' profiles at the bottom of the thread index page, though I know that's not the easiest way to report something. A "report post" button could be added if it's needed.

I'm personally more than willing to put the effort into using the moderator profile link I didn't notice before.... lol

I'd be lying if I said I frequented all the forums, but it seems the low traffic ones, such as the RS-232/IP board, get some occasional spamming that gets overlooked. I don't think it's a major problem or that it warrants additional mods. I just wanted to shoot someone with the rights to remove the spam a heads up, and I didn't notice an easy way to do so.

To be completely honest... I wasn't even sure sending a PM was the accepted practice.

It's gone already...

As is the norm. Daniel is quick to react when things need to be dealt with.

It was some "dollars for gold" mumbo jumbo

It's expected from you in this forum djy.

Frankly.... this thread needed a little injection of the "Intermission" spirit. I'm almost ashamed to have started something so serious here, but I knew Daniel would stumble across it sooner rather than later.

Hmm . . . Methinks I'm going to have to be controversial and try it somewhere else.

If someone spots some spam that I haven't gotten to, a PM or an email is usually fine.
