I came to Remotecentral.com 18 months ago to research for a universal remote to replace the six on my coffee table.
I chose the Mx-1000 which did the job. However, now I am planning to acquire a Harmony remote and then an Mx-700 when available. I also feel a yearning for a Pronto Pro. This would put 3 or 4 remotes back on the table! Does anyone else here have multiple sophisticated universal remotes within arms reach?
What's wrong with me? This seems like a circular path!

Ken, it sounds like you're looking for one remote to be able to operate your entire system right out of the box. They all require some tweaking to get them right. I realize, of course, that you know this already.

Why do you feel the need for the 700 & Pronto?

Yeah guys, I think you're right. I love the gee-whiz-coolness factor of these gadgets. But it seems odd to add multiple remotes back to the mix when the original goal was to eliminate them! Go figure....

Ken: there are two answers
1) education. If you did not try the other remotes how can you know the one you are using is the best?
2) personalization everyone in the room should have his own remote (no fights) and it he should have a choice of stiles (PB remotes for those that like buttons, Pronto for novices......)
