O.k. You've been eating far too much cheese before you went to sleep and you have the weirdest dream. Whilst trying to untangle all the cables at the back of your AV set-up you find an old discarded VHS tape lying amongst the knotted cables. You brush the dust off the label and much to your suprise the tape flips open and a genie dressed in a cinema ushers uniform appears in front of you.

'I am the Home Cinema Genie and as a reward for freeing me from that tape of the second season of Mork and Mindy I will grant you three Home Cinema related wishes. Oh, by the way, I don't do remotes - you'll have to see the remote control Genie about that - I think he's stuck between the cushions on the Sofa'

So, its the big moment - what would your three wishes be?

Cheers
Marco€

Plasma Screen TV - my wife would never let me spend the money on something "sooo unnecessary" :-(

All the films I have on VHS replaced on DVD - she won't let me do that either!!!

A learning remote that could control my RF equipment - I assume this genie can do the impossible ;-)

How about 250G to build my dream home theater? Then maybe another 750G to build a home worthy of a 250G theater? Last but not least, a nice looking, tall, leggy brunette HT usher to dispense popcorn, candy, sodas, load the movies, dust the equipment, and ?. Heavy sigh. Keep dreaming!

This Thread HAD to be brought to the top!

Everyone in the World Gets Three Wishes:

It was shortly after everyone in the world had been granted three wishes that I realized some people were still being treated unfairly in this new system. Parents are forced to use wishes to cure sick children, and homeless persons fritter theirs away on a hot meal and a new pair of shoes, but it doesn't have to be this way. "So, for my First wish, I wish, that each wish made will affect every living human being and not just the individual making the wish." Within twenty-seven seconds of finishing this sentence, I grew eight inches taller, sprouted D-cup breasts, had my hair turn blond, vanished and rematerialized in a Parisian café, had my breast size reduced, turned the café table to gold with my touch, found myself sexually entangled with Cindy Crawford, Brad Pitt, Johnny Depp, Sigourney Weaver and a Shetland pony, turned invisible, met God, changed into a woman, saw the entirety of the universe in the palm of my hand, grew an enormous phallus, was engulfed in Jello, appeared on a yacht in the Caribbean in a vibrating hammock, grew another phallus, developed telekinesis, became the President of the United States, and grew a tail.

For my second wish, I wished that everything could be like it was before I made my first wish.

For my third wish, I wished for a small pepperoni pizza and a dish of peppermint ice cream topped with whipped cream and a cherry.

"Life's simple pleasures are the best!"

(I guess the "stop" button doesn't work for submissions. Oh, well)

1. I like the mind-reading remote idea, but I would like to add call-waiting caller-ID telephone capability to it.

2. Why not just go for an in-the-brain home theater that can be accessed anywhere, any time, with no external equipment? Unlimited resolution with unlimited audio channels.

3. A free lifetime subscription to Munchies-R-Us, with the same mind-reading, instant-teleportation-delivery capability, but not mind-eating. We have to save something for real sensory stimulation and enjoyment. (remember the song "In the Year 2525"? Too scary!)

No, the stop button doesn't work, but the "Edit Message" works!

I know, but I didn't realize that the first post posted until I posted the second post. So, I decided that I'd mention the past post in the first post and not mess with the post in the second post at all. Now, all I have to do is not get so pissed that I go postal. I need to paste a post to an apostle.
