With all the drug gang violence going on down there right now? You'd be better off going to south-central LA, at least then you could drink the water, maybe.

Really, you'd be safer going to the Florida Keys, and you'd be keeping your money in our country's economy. There's already too much of it being sent south as it is.

I don't know... with all that's been going on there recently it's one of the last places I'd want to go as a Canadian...

Cancun is beautiful, but they have been having alot of drug gang probl;ems all over Mexico lately. It's been soo bad lately, that alot of the Mexicans that live here won't even go back to visit. Goto the Florida Keys, no kidnapings or drivebyy shootings, just laid back fun in the sun.

Go to Puerto Rico. Better food and beaches IMO.

Mr G. I've been there and in fact was at that very hotel. The hotel is very tourist-centric and LOADED with kids. We transferred to the Le Blanc the first day (same parent company as Riu). Benefits for me: no kids allowed, all inclusive if you wish at the property plus other Riu properties, very modern and clean decor and architecture, 2 infinity edge pools at ocean side. When I go back, it will be to the Le Blanc. I'm not up on the state of the security down there right now so obviously check into that. Staff was extremely accommodating and the beachfront at the property is nearly private and uncrowded with some of the best sand and water in the area.

Florida Keys are nice too. Key West is a real neat place, lots of activity and pretty laid back. The beach there is pretty bad though, hit up one of the other, more deserted, keys for the beach.
LET'S GO BUFFALO!!!

The wife recently spent 10 days in West Virginia. Me, the longest work related trip I've been on was 3 days in Chester.

I'm not jealous - honest.

I went to Cancun a some time ago.
My best friend just came back from there last month.
Cancun might as well be in GB or US. Most speak English and safety is very highly regarded out there. The whole local economy is based on tourism so that place better be safe.
The airport is a tad small, but manageable. Its about 25-30min bus ride to the main resort areas. More if you're renting a place outside of main strip somewhere.
