OK, so this is how I found it. I did a Google search for "remote control" images and this was on the thrid page.  I have now seen everything. Thank-you Internet.

Ally Mcbeal.. The quirky boss had a bunch of toys with remotes that he used with his girlfriend. 1 would let her hair down, the other would raise her heels to make her taller. Guess its a good thing the show never went to cable :).
