Tonight i sent a colorful text message to the wrong person. The iphone sms app defaults to the last person you were texting with by default when you launch it. I typed in a message and hit send and about 10 seconds after i sent it i was sent "so whats up with that text message". That's when i looked up and realized the wrong person now knows way to much about me.

Have you ever sent a text message or email to the wrong person?

I immediately responded with "sorry, wrong person, that text was meant for someone else" and the person on the other end said "it's fine" but we all know it isn't.

About an hour later i thought up a great way that i could have avoided embarrassment. I am going to share this tip with you guys. I should have....

Not responded.
Waited until the next day.
Changed my phone number.
Respond with "hey this is my new number, i lost my phone at the club last night".

Would this have worked? Any better ideas for dealing with this?

I constantly send messages to the wrong people with the iPhone...

You are right, it always defaults to the last conversation.

My worst screw up so far was this:

I send text messages to my alarm system to monitor the status of arm/disarm & to see when my wife leaves after I do, that she sets the alarm.

To do this, you need to send the message with your pin number to access your account, and I accicdentally send the message to a family member, and luckily, the response I got back was "what the ***k was that?"...

I merely responded by saying I must have pressed random buttons when trying to holster the phone while driving, sorry!

It is very annoying & I wish there was a way to have it default to home text screen each time... Now I am more careful.

After what happened i make it a point to click back to "Text Messages" contact list before hitting the home button to close sms.

lol.... that site is incredible.

:)

(515): Every time we go downtown I ask myself why we live in Des Moines

(715): Apparently at one point I was wearing my sweatshirt backwards like it was normal and then I threw up into the hood. Never drinking again.

Yeah ... I posted this site awhile back... I find constant amusement with this site when I need a laugh.
