Hi, I have a JVC Video (HR-J246EK) and I've totally lost the remote. I need to change the output channel only I don't think I can do it without the remote. Sorry to sound stupid but if I get one of these Universal Remote controls, would I just be able to load the "CCF" file into it and hey presto, or do I need the old remote. Better still, do you know whether I can actually change the O/P without the remote? I would be grateful if you could shed some light on this matter for me.

Nope, I just checked mate. Thanks anyhow. I remember something in the manual about holding a button whilst you power it on, but of course, I've lost the manual. When I play a video it interferes with channel 3. (Thats ITV in the UK.) Bloody thing.

Chris, the next best bet would be to find a remote that already contains the codes, but there's no guarantee that every button would be duplicated. You may need to surf through the VCR's various menus.
Try posting this question in the Universal Remotes forum. Good luck.
