Don't change the subject this is about the party that is going to save the environment and share the wealth. The CO2 foot print is for the average house for 57,598 years. I didn't see Obama, or Pelosi or Dean or for that matter a single Democrat saying that moderation is what's needed in this time of crisis. The campaign promises didn't last a week!

I didnt change the subject. Your post is comparing apples to pencil sharpeners. The fact that one rich guy is outspending the last rich guy is why i have a job. When Obama gets us out of Iraq and we stop spending trillions killing people for no reason.. it will more than make up for what he spends on his little party.

Why do you care how much C02 is released.. global warming is a myth.

Your trillions are a magnitude off. So it's only a waste of money if it's on the war? And a little waste is OK but a big one isn't! Explain that to the 3000 families that the money could have been spent on instead of the inauguration. And the Democrats screamed bloody murder with what Bush spent but the economy wasn't hosed at the time. So try to justify that!

120 million was for security.

Other than that, what should the President do... ride a bike?

Obama didn't set the budgets.

If McCain had won there would have been a much smaller carbon footprint, because no one would have showed up!!!

Get over it.

I guess we'll be hearing your Rush Limbaugh / Sean Hannity comments here for some time.

Trillions sounds better.. plus it leaves room for the price tag on all the human life lost for no reason.

So it's only a waste of money if it's on the war?

Anything spent on war is a waste. Exspecially when they spend tax payers money trying to secure profits for the oil companies.

And a little waste is OK but a big one isn't!

Yes. Size only matters in the bedroom.

Explain that to the 3000 families
that the money could have been spent on instead of the
inauguration.

Giving people handouts is rediculous. Those 3000 families can earn money like the rest of us. Earned income credit is a joke. Those 3000 families should move into the projects and get on welfare like they did in the old days.

And the Democrats screamed bloody murder
with what Bush spent but the economy wasn't hosed at the
time.

The economy was perfect before Bush got into office 8 years ago. It sucks now. I wont say hes to blame but he did his fair share of spending and he definately didnt do anything to solve the economic crisis were experiencing.

So try to justify that!

Justify what? Bush either helped cause the economic crisis or he didnt do anything to stop it. Either way he did a terrible job.

Mr. Stanley - Obama didn't have any input? He couldn't have said no that this is absurd when there are so many people I promised to help doing without. That if we're really concern about the environment we shouldn't be doing this. If he can't control his own party and supports what do you think the Putkins, Chavezs, Kim Jong-il of the world are going to do to him. Chavez has already said that he smells like Bush.

I have many concerns.

My primary concern is putting and end to my tax dollars being used to murder people.

Second would be putting an end to government bailouts of corporation.

Third i would like to have a flat 10% tax on all citizens, companies and houses of worship. I would remove any tax credits or earned income credit for everything except donations to legit charities that do more than try to grow thier fund.

Fourth i would like legislation that forces lenders to follow strict guidelines so that we dont end up with guys making $15 bucks an hour thinking they can own a $500k house a boat and an excursion because some commision based guy with a calculator has figured out how to manipulate the system.

Fifth i would make radio dj's and dumb guy at starbucks report all of the news. Obama received the same amount of money from the gov for his bash that bush did. All the rest was donations. Obama also put a cap on how much a private citizen could donate and bush didnt. This proves Obama has more people who like him.

Chavez smells like rum and a stale cuban cigar. If i had to choose who to smell like... Chavez or Bush.. i would choose to smell like Bush.

Agreed to a point. I like the fair tax better.

That's not only the lenders the people themselves, the relators, the loan underwriters and I could go on all have a share in the collapse.

Obama couldn't have suggested a more approprioate way to spend the money?

I agree that everyone should share in the collapse. But now that were all aware of what will happen.. The lenders have the final say in who gets a loan and who doesnt. If they dont follow the rules.. no one else will.

Obama couldn't have suggested a more approprioate way
to spend the money?

He is limiting the donation to $50k per individual. He will not accept money from "corporations, political action committees, lobbyists who are currently registered with the federal government, people who are not citizens of the United States or from registered foreign agents." He is opening up the event to encourage the public to be involved.

Obama just became president and there is going to be a huge party. Theres always a huge party. Rich people love to drink and dance. Everyone in washington is rich or trying so theres a lot of money floating around.

Bush's inauguration cost several millions as well and $40 million of it was from corporate & private donors i.e. lobbyists.

A lot of the expense for Obama's deal was for security & crowd control.

Mr. Stanley if I'm not mistaken you have more skinheads as denizens of your state than another in the US. If I had to pick skinhead or red neck I'll pick red necks especially the black ones that drive those trucks and listen to Hank Williams and in the rural south there are a lot of them. If you had ever left the state you were born in you would find out there are many amazing place with people that are very different form you - which is a good thing.

I was watching the news today.. the story about Obama signing something that is supposed to close the Gitmo prison within a year. I have always wondered why the hell Cuba allows us to have a military base there and today i found out..

It turns out that in 1903 Cuba leased the 45 miles of land to the US for just under $5000.00 per year. We are still paying less than $5k per year for the 45 miles. Can you believe that? Castro called it illegal and refuses to cash the checks.

I guess Castro is a wuss after all.
