Yeah, although GLS will say I am making another hate-filled comment, (which is a total right-wing attack attempt)... A lot of Americans aren't used to an actual intelligent Prez. after the last 8 years. LOL.

lol, true, but sometimes I felt that he would go with
what was an "easy" sell and that sometimes it almost contradicted
other stuff he said. Like I said, it just put a litle
doubt in my mind on if we know what he stands for. Like
I said, I am happy he won and if I was voting I would
have voted for him. I am just not convinced we have good
idea of what he is for.

agree

It APPEARS what he stands for is integrity, fairness, bringing both parties together (as much as can be expected), rebuilding our trust and standing in the world community, listening instead of reacting, and action.

Sure he'll make a few gaffes, a few mistakes, and he'll also have to make some very unpopular decisions.

Meanwhile the far right, and the GOP attack machine and right wing media will continue to attack and spin their B.S. as usual, and the mouth breathing knuckle dragging "Joe the Plumber" & Palin fans will eat it up.

The general American public got greedy, not just the sub-prime homeowners, but now we arfe going to see a HUGE crash of the mid to higher end mortgage owners, who HAD to have a 5000 sq ft. McMansion with commercial grade kitchen appliances etc.
This last couple of generations were a bunch of spoiled brats, and now it's gonna kick them in the teeth!

Did anyone see 60 minutes yesterday? About the upper end mortgage bubble that is going to burst BIG-TIME?

It's sort of similar in retrospect to the roaring twenties all over again... The largest asset bubble is bursting, and greed and the "I gotta have my sub-zeros and two BMW's mentality" is tapping a lot of U.S. consumers on the shoulder... not just the sub-prime customers.

Anyway hopefully Prez. Elect Obama has put together a decent cabinet, and can call the shots when he sees the need to do so.

Yeah, next year I'm actually considering "buying" a place to live! Prices are already dropping over here.

Still scares the crap outta me though...

OK, here is my rant.

I am sick and tired of BOTH the democrats and the republicans bantering back and forth about all this. Bottom line is they are all politicians. The word politician itself stirs emotion in most people. We have all spouted our opinion about them. We still have a bipartisan government, Democrats and Republicans, to enable us to feel that we still have a "Choice". I fear that we may not freely have that choice any longer. The truth is if we were to pick who was running for a particlular party, most of us wouldnt choose any of those we had to choose from this go around. We all get caught up in arguing back and forth, "The liberals did this or the conservatives did that", instead of standing collectively as "One nation under God"!

Government leaders used to go into public service for the greater good. Now it is for power and influence. We the people used to vote according to the common good of the country as a whole, not our own selfish motivations. "What can this President do for me". Free this free that, I "DESERVE" to have that, not what is best for us all. We vote our desires not our obligations to our country and our generations to come.

We live in a society that agreeably has become selfish and greedy. From the homeowner with two BMW's and the 5,000 square foot home to the Wall Street mogul and all the executives drawing 7 figure salaries. Unfotunately if it werent for the selfish, greedy lifestyles of most, most of us wouldnt be in business. 60" plasmas, whole house audio and lighting controls are not necessities they are luxuries driven by ALL of our selfish desires.

Where does this all end? I'm not sure! We all have to make up our own opinions just as I have mine. I do know this. If we continue on the path we are on we are all doomed for failure. No country can survive when its very fabric is comprised of inward, selfish thinking and desires fed by two conflicted views of politics.

Benjamin Franklin warned of this very thing immortalized by John Dickenson's "Liberty Song".
"Then join in hand, brave Americans all—
By uniting we stand, by dividing we fall!

I agree with all of it but the standing under god thing. What if he sits down? Wouldnt we be squished?

The same thing happens with little league football teams. My first year was all about football but my last few years were me watching my uncles try to manipulate the vote to position themselves at the top of the coaching staff. It was rediculous. The current state of American politics is rediculous.

We live in a society that agreeably has become selfish
and greedy. From the homeowner with two BMW's and the

Rich and greed are relative terms. I remember working at a house where i was installing 200k worth of crestron gear.. The client was complaining about some greedy old rich guy spending money on a yacht. Its ok to have 200K worth of toy but not 100mil worth of toy.

Where does this all end? I'm not sure! We all have to
make up our own opinions just as I have mine. I do know

39 cent stamp,

I wouldnt expect any thing else as a reponse from you. I feeble attempt at humor all the while avoiding a truthful thought out reply.

Keep trying, I look forward to it!

Oh, and the reponse;
Capitalism. Sometimes its ugly.. but its why i get to add cheese to my burger and not have to worry if i have enough $ for it :).

I remember you asking in another thread and I quote, "Also..Whats wrong with communism? No one has an answer for that. Its evil because reagan says so?"

I'm confused...? Either you like communism or wait...maybe captilism, but well maybe you were trying to be funny again. OK I get it. Try again.

Feeble attempt at humor? If your going to post crap like this.. my job is already done.

So let me get this straight... if we unite together.. we stand.. but if we divide we fall? Wow.. i dont know how he came up with that one. How could he have known what the economic situation in the United States would be like now? He must have been psychic.. Or.. he could have just been talking about stacking logs.

Keep trying, I look forward to it!

Ok.

I dont doubt that your confused, i expect it after reading your last post. Read my posts again and this time try sounding the words out if your confused. I dont like communism. I laugh at and poke fun at and ridicule the morons who think communism is evil. This doesnt mean i like it. I'm just smart enough to know that Reagan was a horrible paranoid lunatic and he used the fear of communism to wage war with lasers in space via tax payer money. And for some reason.. people think he was a great president.

Capitolism is as close to the natural order of things as we can get in the humanity-created financial realm. It allows the weak to fail and the strong to succeed.

Reagan used the fear of communism, just like Bush has used the fear of terrorists.

I bought a cool t-shirt today... It's the Obama red white & blue silk screened head shot of him... the caption below it is: "Hope Kicked Fear's Ass!"
