My friend in Kuwait is happy. Oh and he isn't a terrorist! He is at the top of the food chain for their main Oil company. He says hopefully tensions will be lower in the middle east and mean lower oil $$$

I think it's freakin awesome, that the States did something so progressive as vote Obama in.
Although, your problem voting day Stanley renewed my belief on some of your resident's backward views.
Hope you're feeling better

A sad indictment of our own political masters that we should garner such enjoyment out of another country's election. It's been great fun.

when the Dem’s had their race, I did not think he could win the election there is too much racism in the US-not that I think 50%+ of Americans are racist, but let’s face it some people would vote Rep for other reasons so a black guy would have less chance, I also think that it could help bring out the racist vote -- then again racisms could work both ways. But I think it was obvious that he would win for some time before the vote (and if he did not, I am guessing many would be asking some serious questions).
As for thumbs up or down. My guess is that he would be better. Palin scared the sh!t out of me, but McCain was not that bad, just not sure if he had the right vision. As for Obama, I kind of like the guy and if I was in the US I would most likely vote for him, but I am not sure I trust him. There is something about the way he talks that make me wonder if he is a good sales man or someone that knows what he is doing. It also seems (maybe I have the wrong impression) that he is the type of person that is willing to say anything to get elected, and that would mean that it is hard to know what he will do once in office.

That would group him with pretty much every other politician out there. :) I firmly believe that Palin cost McCain the election. If it didn't...it should have.

After the debacles of the past administration, many people probably voted Democrat just because it meant not voting Republican. As for thumbs up or down. My guess is that he would be better. I definitely think he knows what he's doing. Very well organized and very thought out. He seems to go beyond his promises and actually craft a plan as to how he will address various issues. That's something I did not see from the McCain campaign. Disclaimer: I'm an American.

That would group him with pretty much every other politician out there. lol, true, but sometimes I felt that he would go with what was an "easy" sell and that sometimes it almost contradicted other stuff he said. Like I said, it just put a litle doubt in my mind on if we know what he stands for. Like I said, I am happy he won and if I was voting I would have voted for him. I am just not convinced we have good idea of what he is for. I firmly believe that Palin cost McCain the election. If it didn't...it should have. agree

Yes, well that is a BIG concern. Our country has a lot of very stupid, racist and generally vapid people out there. I pray for his safety. If anything were to happen to him--- boy that would be ugly! I was twelve when JFK was shot, and the country was never the same since. Obama is the best thing to come along since JFK, but there are so may inbred, stupid, ugly people, that I am very afraid. I swear if anything were to happen to him... well... I'd either leave the country or....

Why do I torture myself? It doesn't surprise me that all the socialists from socialist countries are happy we have a socialist president, but either way, he is our president and I will support him at least until he tries to rob me of my freedoms. I am happy that a black man can come from nothing and be president, it shows ow great our country really is. I'm still waiting for the black English, French, German, Russian, etc etc leaders to show up.
Palin didn't tank McCain, the economy did. We had a Dem controlled house the last two years. They did what to help the economy and the looming trouble? Franklin Raines managed to put 100 million in HIS pocket from Fannie and Freddie. He is Obama's financial advisor now. And didn't Obama get the most money from Fannie and Freddie?
Stanley, you are generally bigoted and hate-filled. You have no room to talk. It comes through in everything you post that isn't talking about a remote control, and usually then too.
