To me he was one of the better actors to play the Doctor

[Link: telegraph.co.uk]

Never mind there are still 4 specials and I'll look forward to the next one to play the role
I knew this was a mistake; my grip on reality's not too good at the best of times. Glitz, in "The Ultimate Foe"

Isn't he running out of regenerations? At the rate they're going through actors, the series will be officially dead soon. Unless they break cannon.

if you count all the doctors then they have gone over it already (I mean include stuff like the US TV series that never went any where and stuff like that) On the other hand we also don't know how many regenerations the doctor had before the TV show started (is it fair to assume he did not have any regenerations in his life before that?) On the other hand we know that the master regenerated more then his 12 times so it is not a cannon (biological rule of the species)

I began watching Doctor Who more than 20 years ago. I would stay up late at night with my mom watching it on PBS (where americans watched Doctor Who before cable and satellite :). David Tennant has been the most fun to watch doctor, since Tom Baker IMO. My favorite scene for Tom Baker was him pulling things out of his pocket at a police station, it went on for quite a while :).

The Master was also offered a new cycle of regenerations by the High Council to save the Doctor from the Death Zone, which may indicate that there are methods to circumvent the 12 regeneration limit

Can't possibly agree more. :)

And I also have to say that it's relieving to know that other people in the world love this series as much as I.

I like him as well, I agree, he is a lot like Baker. I also (a bit OT) find it funny when people say stuff like "I liked the old series, the new one is not the same" the old series was for over 20 years each actor played the Doctor differently (from old conservative and in control to traveling hobo to semi-lunatic God only knows if we will survive and everything in between) and the plots where just as different at some point he was a world traveler (from one corner to the next of the universe) at other times he was more of an archaeologist (moving through time and space) and there was the time when he more or less just stayed at home and helped UNIT with what seamed as daily alien attacks.

Something of a forerunner to Torchwood then.

The one thing I miss in the new series is they haven't done ANYTHING with the vast interior of the TARDIS.

I gave Torchwood a chance... didn't like it. Couldn't get get past the exceedingly bad acting.

Maybe it's just me but I always thought that the Tom Baker days seem to mix it up a little better. More going on, and coming at him from more angles.

agree, did you watch yesterdays episode? (for you guys in the UK, it was the Agatha Christy one) the doctor bends on the floor, takes the floor board off takes a chest out and takes a later copy of one of her books that had a pic of a giant bee on it. They act as if the TARDIS is that one room

How hard would it be to make a boring rectangular room with the TARDIS type walls and just use it to represent every other room they need by changing what is in it. And for that episode in particular it would be just as easy to see the doc come back through the door with that chest.

I couldn't get on with either.

Tom Baker fronted last Friday's "Have I News For You". He is absolutely barking.

As for the inside of the TARDIS, I vaguely recollect it once being described as being infinitely large, so yes, I would agree that more could be done.

yup. If they need more room they can just create an other. According to one of the doctors the inside is just a bubble in an other dimension so if they need more rooms they just make it produce more bubbles. So it is literally infinite

They could do a "something snuck on board lets track it down" episode. Every scifi show does this at some point :).
