An interesting discussion has hit our press – it seems that once on Facebook it’s virtually impossible to delete whatever information you put on the site. The excuse the people at Facebook give is that you may want to come back later and all your past information will be ready and waiting for you. – Hmm, I wonder who has access to that in the meantime?

I know many people don’t really care, but over time we all change. What is unimportant now may end up being very significant later. I’ll stick with djy’s sentiments and stay anonymous.

Towards the end of last year there were a number of news stories about prospective employers checking the various social networking sites in order to garner information about applicants. This in turn raised the topic of trying to leave said sites, and as Damik says, it's not easy . . .

Perhaps I'm being a little paranoid, but I think I'll steer clear.

It is easy i have done it before
try and find my myspace page for example this is one of those urban myths in my opinion. you delete all the photos ,you delete all the videos ,you edit all your articles you make any groups or articles private or for your friends only then you e mail them to remove you.. even if they don't straight away no one can see what you have put.
