My cable company has supplied me with the above Digital converter. Now, they are charging me 6 bucks a month rental, after it being free for two years. My question, if I were to return it and purchase my own, what problems would I encounter?? As far as hook up, I know I can do that, but what I don't know is would I still get the same digital channels, or even if it would work. I've seen one for sale on ebay and the seller suggests getting in touch with the cable company for advice. I consider this the" fat chance" theory. Any advice? Kind regards, Rich

Yeah, I seriously doubt the ebay one would work for you, and the cable co has no reason to activate it for you. You won't get any digital channels without your cable box or a cable card. The only digital cable channels you may get would be ones that aren't encrypted and that is only if you have a QAM tuner in your TV.
