I think there should be a forum specifically for posting/discussing discrete codes. Anyone else think this is a good idea?

Can you guess that I have Toshiba equipment? :)

There is a thread that talks about components that DON'T have discrete codes here.

Perhaps if your equipment is listed there you at least won't spend a lot of time trying to find discrete codes.

Ah. I did not appear to be able to interpret "TOAD" as being a forum for devices that have no discreet codes. :)

Not a terribly intuitive name, but thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

I did not come up with this. The complaint should be brought to the Acronym creator. Greg, it is like when you are blamed for problems with the MX-500 and MX-1000.

As a kid I used to love to chase and catch toads (and frogs), play with them for a few hours (OK from their point of view it must have seemed like torture) and then let them go. BUT I do hate this kind of TOAD

ROFL Anthony! I knew it wasn't you who came up with the acronym. And I was just playing around.

Toad is generally used as a negative term anyway.

In my opinion, federal law should mandate discrete codes for ALL functions on ALL Home Theater devices. PERIOD!!!

It was Dale (the one and only Darnitol) that coined that acronym.
