Ah...good to know. So for the last 2,000 to 1,600 years we have known about the problem but have continued to build and expand the city!

Still blaming the Romans means that there is probably a good chance that they or their descendants will not take any legal action.

Re. the ESG story. It's redevelopment not an expansion, but it's also a little bit of back to the future. Part of the plan is to reopen the old Hereford/Gloucester canal.

Oh and for the record, I'm all for the redevelopment as it means HUFC's stadium will get a much needed make over.

Now that I would like to see. It is unfortunate that there does not seem to be the funding to keep a number of the existing canals in good repair.
