Who's the butt-hole who had the bright idea of starting this thread anyway?

Then what do I do with the Iodized salt? Oh never mind!

Iodine is one of those things they give you when you have had a little to much radiation for the day, although the amount they put in salt would do you very little good.

I have no problem with your priorities, but I think you
might be remiss in expecting the government to take care
of all of these.

I don't want them to do them for me. But I do not want them to tie my hands either. Example: I pay taxes, I get free education for my kids PROVIDED I send them to what ever school district that I live in. What if that school sucks? TOO BAD you live here this is where you WILL send your kids. I like the voucher program. Just 1 example.

Personally, I think it is the individual's responsibility to take care of your first three. Yeah,
I know politicians will promise you all of these things,
but the bottom line is that you are the one it affects.
Make sure you have adequate health and health care, make
sure your kids are getting the education you want them
to have, and for God's sake do not depend on SS.

I agree SS is a crock of crap, and will be finished before I can draw on it. How about letting me take my SS that they take out of my check and give it to my Envestment guy at Edward Jones?

Heath care? Don't Even get me started on that. We pay 550 a month to Blue Cross. And that still does not cover co-pays and a bunch of other crap. When some people get it for free. (immigration/heath care on that comment)

National security is definitely a government job. I'm not sure
what you mean by job status, but it is definitely the
individual's responsibility to get qualified for the job
they want or better yet create a business that provides
jobs.

I was talking about how difficult it is on companies in some states to make new companies, or to even run a business. (immigration also plays into this I guess.)

|Immigration is a tricky issue and you are right
the government needs to deal with it. Taxes should be
cut to the opimal level (maximum receipts to the Treasury
which surprisingly is about 15%) and left there so our
government has less opportunity to meddle. So, if you
take out the things that government has no business doing
you are left with a pretty much conservative government.

I agree. watch the taxes..... cut the taxes...... and yes most importantly.......

be a SMALL conservative Gov. Exactly.

I don't understand why your original post called for a hybrid candidate. What you are describing is a straight Republican agenda.
How hard can this be?

Cause the Republican agenda sucks when it comes to health care. The bill that was passed did not allow for Medicare to use buying power to get better prices on drugs. It allowed the drug companies to sell at what ever cost they want to. But at the same time I think that health care like our nothern brothers would not be good either. Or like the UK has. The list goes on for health care.

Parts of the left isle on immigration I like, but not the whole plan. Same thing for the right side of the isle.

No child left behind? Didn't the state that was first to do it say that they were quiting and it was not working?

Yes you are correct I lean a lot more to the right than to the left.... but that still does not take away that I would like a more hybrid canidate. CA gov is more of a hybrid.

I guess another way to say it is a very conservative democrat or a liberal rep.

Dear Mr. Clark W.Griswold:

Uh, boy thanks for stirring up the pot here on Global Warming!!! We've ping-ponged this around a few times over the last year or so!

Just a suggestion... Whatever you do, please don't bring up any posts about:

Macs vs. PC's
Speakers out of a White Van
Red vs. Blue states
Gun Control
Crestron vs. AMX
To Be a CEDIA member or Not to be a CEDIA Member
Skin Effect - or how electrical signal likes to travel on or in wiring
Anything to do with Politics or Religion!!!!

Also don't bring up OLD posts... I did that initially when I came on board here, and almost got skinned alive. Instead of hitting (next) I was hitting (last) & not really paying attention to the posting dates. A.D.D. strikes again!

LOL!!!!!!

According to this interview, it was No child's behind left alone:

I always seem to be defending the Republicans, which is not my intent. I just want to get the facts straight.

Cause the Republican agenda sucks when it comes to health
care. The bill that was passed did not allow for Medicare
to use buying power to get better prices on drugs. It
allowed the drug companies to sell at what ever cost they
want to. But at the same time I think that health care
like our nothern brothers would not be good either. Or
like the UK has. The list goes on for health care.

This is a very complex issue, but basically American drug companies are the ones that do all the R&D for new drugs. They charge more for these to offset the cost of R&D. Canada and other countries pick them up once they become generic. Drug companies do not arbitrarily charge what ever they want for drugs. They are in fierce competition with each other. Other contributors to high health care stem from insurance abuses and care for uninsured people among other things. If your theoretical hybrid candidate has a better plan I would be glad to here it.

Parts of the left isle on immigration I like, but not
the whole plan. Same thing for the right side of the isle.

So, what's the ideal solution?

No child left behind? Didn't the state that was first
to do it say that they were quiting and it was not working?

I don't know about this, but why is every Republican initiative considered to be a complete failure if it's not 100% perfect? Which when it comes to education is impossible. Once again, if there's a better plan, I'd like to hear.

Yes you are correct I lean a lot more to the right than
to the left.... but that still does not take away that
I would like a more hybrid canidate. CA gov is more of
a hybrid.

What would the governator do?

I guess another way to say it is a very conservative democrat
or a liberal rep.

BTW Thanks to you guys that posted the funny links. It's always good to keep it in perspective.
