hey, whats the difference between a porcupine and a BMW?....

...with the BMW the pr1ck$ are on the inside!
What part of "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." do you not understand?

LOL!!! Same is true with Porshes!

Sunday i went to a BMW "meet" with a buddy... Looked around at the acres and acres of BMW's... they all looked about the same.

I got dirty looks pulling in, in my old MB! ;>)

It would be like a guy showing up to a Crestron convention wearing an AMX t-shirt!

i really want to like mercedes... even thinking of buying a car soon (gasp, NYC dweller with a car!!!) ... but when looking at the daimler models, i just don't see too much performance. they are all overweight non-driver vehicles. despite the yutzes behind the wheel of BMW's, at least you can say that the BMW is a true driver's vehicle (with the exception of the new 6 series, another overweight veinervagon)

if i can get over the image of BMW ownership, the 3 series seems like a good car. the new 1 series might even be attractive for its compact city-friendly size and super premium performance specs. new C-class is really boring and nothing says performance except its "sport" nomenclature.

On all fronts, Audi seems to trump them all. S4 or RS4 (for the rich folk), with quattro and good performance is my driver's vote and A8L W12 seems like a better luxury automobile for the super luxo crowd too. is the jury out on the A5? performance coupe or overweight luxo sport in the footsteps of the BMW M6? I think that the Europeons would agree, Audi is the real winner here.

All this talk about high class vehicles and yet nobody has mentioned the very exotic, extremely high class, super powerful, intense handling, somewhat eccentric White Cargo Van. I really like the 2500 series.

Yeah, I'm not too into the newer Mercedes - nor could I dream of being able to buy one... But I really like the mid eighties to mid ninty years of them. Solid some were fast, some were not... I have a 300ce that is fairly quick and yet very comfy and gets 30 mpg on the f-way.

I agree totally. And the image part is tough. There was a lot of "attitude" at that BMW thing I went to!

Yep, I think you are right.

LOL! i've owned a couple (actually 1500's)... Fine, fine ride & handling - not to mention the deafening roar from all of the parts bins and freeway & road noise filtering in!

Plus if business gets bad & you lose your house, you can just park your van down by the river and roll out your sleeping bag!
