Years ago when I worked at the Post Office, the Unions' Occupational Health and Safety Training Officer had to take time off (on Compo) due to having badly scratched his eyeball when removing a staple with a screwdriver!

Our Safety Officer was leaving the plant on his motorcycle, one day, when he suddenly realised the barrier gate was still down. He had to drop the bike to avoid it.
